The game rolls you back to right before the start of the final mission, so the world state will be as if you're about to start the game's climax. For me, having played the DLC on my 100% complete file from around launch, it did feel weird contextually to have Aloy running off to a new land when the big finale was ostensibly about to start.
Best time to do it is literally right now. Anytime after Maker's end but BEFORE "deep secrets of the earth". So right now is perfect. I usually do it after Gravehoard. scribblert • 3 yr. ago. Keener's Rock is a gate location in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds. Keener's Rock is a small camp located in the northern part of the Cut near the border of Ban-Ur, the true Banuk homeland. Its raised position makes it a respite from the blizzards that move south off of Ban-Ur's vast glaciers. This location also makes Keener's Rock a temporary way station for weraks traveling to and from Owl Skin is a rare resource in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds. This rare resource is only found on Owls. Despite being labelled in-game to be used for trading with merchants, it is not actually used to purchase any items.
