80 posts · Joined 2006. #5 · Jul 18, 2006. If I remember, it's illegal to swap an older engine into a newer car. Can only go the other way around. Pretty sure its not state-specific, its everywhere. Although, I dont know if a lot of inspection stations could tell the difference anyway.
Before the LS became the default V8 swap, Ford's 5.0-liter HO V8 was the quickest and cheapest way to get a big bump in power. Today, it's 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque seems anemic, but 3MWB. 398 844 494 815 613 712 19 880
